“We are headquartered here in Atlanta,” said Wheego President Jeff Boyd, “so we are very familiar with the reputation of the local dealerships. In Atlanta, the Jim Ellis name is synonymous with excellent business practices and top-notch customer service. We are very pleased that Jim Ellis has chosen Wheego Electric Cars as part of their portfolio as they launch Georgia’s preeminent Electric Vehicle dealership.

“Wheego Electric Cars is about to beat all the major auto manufacturers to market with an affordable all-electric car,” said Jim Ellis Auto’s COO, Jimmy Ellis. “We will launch our EV initiative with the Wheego Whip LSV, a low-speed all-electric car that is particularly suitable to neighborhood driving and fleet usage. Customers can take the low-speed car for a test drive at our dealership in July and get a sense of the engineering, styling and overall quality of the Wheego brand… and, they can also reserve the first highway speed, crash tested, all electric car on the Wheego website for delivery beginning in September. When Wheego rolls out the highway version, called the LiFe, we’ll also have the car available at our dealership for our Atlanta area customers to test drive. It’s a great fit for anyone who commutes under 50 miles each way because you can drive the car 100 miles on a charge; and, then, just as easy as a cell phone, you can plug it in every night to recharge. You’ll zip right by the gas station every day. Plus, you can drive this car in the HOV lane in Georgia by yourself.”

The highway-ready Wheego LiFe goes approximately 100 miles on a charge, and retails for $32,995. The Wheego LiFe qualifies for a $7,500 Federal tax credit, and a $5,000 Georgia state tax credit, dropping the effective net price in Georgia to under $21,000. In addition, Georgia drivers will be able to drive the Wheego LiFe in the HOV lane (with no additional passenger in the car) by obtaining an alternate fuel vehicle license plate.

The Wheego LiFe comes fully-equipped with driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, and power windows and locks. The 115V lithium battery pack can be charged from a standard 120V outlet, a 240V outlet or any of the J1772 standard charging stations being installed in public locations throughout the US. It is available in red, white, blue, black, silver, and green. The Wheego Whip LiFe is a two-seat subcompact car with fit, finish and features that compete with any other subcompact car on the market.

Atlanta drivers can reserve a Wheego LiFe by visiting www.wheego.net and making a fully refundable $100 deposit. The highway-ready LiFe will be available through Jim Ellis Auto Dealerships beginning in September. For more information or to locate a Jim Ellis dealership, visit http://www.jimelliswheeego.com.

ATLANTA, GA (June 29, 2010) – WHEEGO ELECTRIC CARS today announced the Wheego Whip LSV is available on the General Services Administration Schedule 23 for Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs).

The GSA contract facilitates Wheego Electric Cars selling LSVs to Federal Agencies, affiliated companies and military installations across the U.S.

“The Wheego Whip LSV is an excellent choice for government fleets,” explains Wheego President Jeff Boyd. “It is one of the few all-electric vehicles on the GSA schedule that is a ‘real’ car and not a golf cart. It is street-legal, with an all-steel body, enclosed cabin, heater and radio, plus available air conditioning. It’s all-electric and produces zero emissions, so it will help government agencies meet their federally mandated energy conservation goals. We anticipate our highway-speed car, the Wheego LiFe, will be added to the GSA Schedule after it launches in the U.S. in September.”

Executive Order 13423 – “Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management,” signed by former President George W. Bush, mandates that federal agencies (a) improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions of the agency, through reduction of energy intensity by (i) 3 percent annually through the end of fiscal year 2015, or (ii) 30 percent by the end of fiscal year 2015, relative to the baseline of the agency’s energy use in fiscal year 2003.

The initial Wheego offering is the Whip LSV, which is available now. The Whip LSV is an all-electric low speed vehicle which can be driven on roads with posted speed limits of 35 miles per hour or less, including streets on military bases across the U.S. The Wheego Whip LSV is now listed on GSA Schedule 23 for LSV’s under contract number GS-30F-0036W.

The next Wheego offering, the Lithium-based full-speed Wheego LiFe, will begin shipping to customers across the U.S. in September. It will go approximately 100 miles on a charge, and will be fully crash-tested and highway-ready. Wheego is taking reservations for the Wheego LiFe now at Wheego.net.

ATLANTA (June 14, 2010) – WHEEGO ELECTRIC CARS today announced they are taking reservations for the all-electric Wheego Whip LiFe car on their website at www.wheego.net.

“We are on schedule to be the first company to offer an affordable all-electric car in the U.S.,” announced Wheego CEO Mike McQuary. “Other auto companies have made announcements of the upcoming availability of their electric cars, but for the most part, their cars are being released in only a few cities, and in limited quantities. Our Wheego Whip LiFe will ship to customers first-come, first-served across the U.S. beginning in September, and everyone who makes a reservation will be driving their car before the end of the year. The Whip LiFe has a lithium battery pack, is made of 75% U.S. content, and is assembled in Ontario, California. It is an example of American ingenuity at its finest.”

The highway-ready Wheego Whip LiFe goes approximately 100 miles on a charge, and retails for $32,995. The Wheego Whip LiFe qualifies for a $7,500 Federal tax credit, dropping the net price to under $26,000. States such as California and Georgia offer State tax credits or rebates up to $5,000 to further reduce the net price of the car. In addition, Congress has legislation pending that proposes an additional $2,000 electric vehicle incentive.

“We have had incredible interest in our Wheego Whip LiFe,” said McQuary. “I think the public understands that the time has finally come to make electric vehicles a part of everyday life. The recent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has certainly highlighted that it’s time for a change. There are a lot of people talking about this problem, and now there is a chance to take action. A groundswell of public support for electric cars continues to grow. Once you have gone a few months without filling up your car at a gas station, you will be hooked on the idea of never doing it again. Americans are insistent on decreasing our dependence on foreign oil now; and on domestic oil, for that matter. You will recharge this car every night in your garage, and be good to go for 100 miles the next day: around the neighborhood, on the highway, everywhere you took your gas guzzler- except to the gas station.”

The new Wheego Whip LiFe comes fully-equipped with driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes, air conditioning, and power windows and locks. The 115V lithium battery pack can be charged from a standard 120V outlet, a 240V outlet or any of the J1772 standard charging stations. It is available in red, white, blue, black, silver, and green. The Wheego Whip LiFe is a two-seat subcompact car with fit, finish and features that compete with any other subcompact car on the market.

Drivers can reserve a Wheego LiFe by:

Visiting www.wheego.net

Making a fully refundable $100 down-payment

Receiving a reservation number

Providing contact information for follow-up by a registered Wheego dealer

ATLANTA (June 8, 2010) – WHEEGO ELECTRIC CARS, manufacturer of all-electric vehicles, today announced it has appointed Good Stuff Auto as its dealer with exclusive rights to sell the Wheego Electric Car product line throughout Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Lake and Mendocino Counties in California.

Good Stuff Auto owners Jim and Barbara Bennett are adding an Electric Boutique to their twenty-year-old dealership. “There is a great deal of interest in Electric Vehicles in our area,” says Jim Bennett. “We think the Wheego Whip is a perfect addition to our Electric Boutique. It’s reasonably priced, stylish and fun to drive – but with no emissions, no gas and no noise. The Wheego vehicles are assembled in California, so we’re also happy about supporting another California business.”

Wheego President Jeff Boyd feels Good Stuff Auto is a good fit for the Wheego brand. “Californians have led the way in Electric Vehicle interest and usage,” says Boyd. “We anticipate tremendous demand for EVs and are excited to have signed Good Stuff Auto. Jim and Barbara Bennett have a proven twenty-year track record of offering their clients a very personal sales and service experience. Seventy percent of their sales are repeat or referral business. They will take good care of our customers, and we are happy to have them join us.”

The Wheego Whip LiFe Full-Speed all-electric car is expected this summer. The Whip LiFe runs on a lithium battery pack, and will go approximately 100 miles on a charge. The retail price on the Wheego Whip LiFe is $32,995; the Whip LiFe qualifies for a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit, and a $5,000 State of California Rebate. The LiFe is anticipated to be the first affordable all-electric car to be widely available in the U.S.

The Wheego Whip LSV (Low-Speed Vehicle) is available now at Good Stuff Auto and other dealers across the country. It runs on sealed lead-acid batteries and qualifies for a 10% Federal Tax Credit in 2010. With a sticker price of $18,995, the Wheego Whip LSV net price is just over $17,000. The Whip LSV is an “around-town” car, with a range of about 40 miles per charge and a maximum speed of 35mph. “The Wheego LSV isn’t going to be a family’s only car,” says Jim Bennett. “But if you commute daily in the LSV and use it for all your local errands, you’ll find you are leaving your ‘thirsty’ car in the garage two-thirds of the time. You’re using far less gas, you’re extending the life of your bigger car, and you’re lessening your carbon footprint. At the end of the summer, we’ll have the highway-ready LiFe available here as well. We are inviting everyone to come in and take the LSV for a spin to get a preview for how the full-speed will feel. We’ll start taking reservations this month for the full-speed. What’s happening in the Gulf of Mexico right now is awakening in people a need to do something positive for the environment, and to begin to move the U.S. toward oil independence and a cleaner future. We are excited about being a part of that positive change.”

Both Wheego Whip models are fully-loaded two-seat compact cars with fit, finish and features that compete with any other subcompact car on the market. Features include remote keyless entry, air conditioning, and MP3 stereo system.

ATLANTA (April 22, 2010) – WHEEGO ELECTRIC CARS, manufacturer of all-electric cars today announced it has been awarded the “Proggy” Award (for “progress”) as the Best Green Car Company of 2010 by People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). PETA’s Proggy Award is given for animal-friendly achievements in commerce and culture, and recognizes Wheego’s decision to offer their all-electric vehicles without the option of a leather interior.

In presenting the award, PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said, “As you’re probably aware, leather wreaks havoc on the environment. Setting this innovative and progressive policy for Wheego vehicles will raise awareness among consumers about the environmental damage associated with turning animal skin into leather. In addition, by providing alternatives to processes that harm animals, Wheego is helping contribute to a more humane way of life for our entire society and setting a standard for other automakers to emulate. “

Wheego President Jeff Boyd says the decision was easy: “In building an all-electric, zero-emission car, we are trying to do the right thing for the environment. It only makes sense to carry that commitment through to our choices for interior finishes. There are so many high-quality materials available now that look, feel and wear like real leather… but are much more responsible choices for our environment. We thank PETA for their support and encouragement, and are very happy to be their choice of Best Green Car Company.”

Ellis Brooks will introduce the Wheego Whip to San Francisco with a test-drive event at their dealership on February 20. “We think people will be surprised at the performance and affordability of this car,” said GM John Brooks. “We invite the public, fleet purchasers and local media to take it for a spin.” The event will be open from 9:00a.m to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday February 20th.
