The Engineering team at Wheego Technologies works on integrating the industry’s best components into safe, reliable, and fun electric vehicles; from prototypes through to production. We are a team of problem solvers that share a passion for engineering design, but are not afraid to get our hands dirty.

You must be passionate about electric vehicles and electric vehicle technology, as well as capable of working in a very fast-paced, startup environment. You will be responsible for your designs from start to finish, and will be working with a small, cross-functional team. These positions will be in our Northern California office and some travel, both domestic and international, will be involved.

POWER ELECTRONICS ENGINEER


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Electrical design and development of components for Wheego’s next generation products
  • Select, qualify, and manage suppliers and manufacturing partners
  • Test plan creation and execution
  • Collaborative work with electrical, mechanical, battery, and thermal design engineers
  • Integration of powertrain systems into prototype vehicles

Qualifications

  • BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3-5+ years of industry experience

Requirements

  • Demonstrated technical abilities in engineering and product design with emphasis on power electronics
  • Experience with electronics and system level debug; experience using multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering tools, current measurement techniques, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proficient with circuit design, schematic capture, and board layout tools

 Bonus Points

  • Automotive components design and development
  • Working with contract manufacturers
  • High voltage systems experience
  • Previous experience designing inverters, on-board chargers, or DCDC converters

Electric Vehicle Technician


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage machine shop and maintain equipment
  • Help engineering team expedite vehicle design and development
  • Test and debug vehicle electrical systems
  • Rapid prototyping of components
  • Collaborative work with electrical, mechanical, battery, and thermal design engineers

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Automotive schooling and/or experience preferred (3-5+ years)

Requirements

  • Demonstrated machining skills using CNC mill, lathe, welder, etc.
  • Ability to read and build from engineering drawings
  • Experience with automotive teardown and prototyping
  • Familiar with vehicle electrical systems
  • Ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience with CANbus and CAN tools
  • Experience with EV and/or high voltage systems
  • Development and/or debugging of wiring harnesses
  • Industry certifications (i.e. welding, ASE)
